Road trip through Australia

Well as I said in my previous post that I had a bit of time off so Ash and I took a road trip throughout the south east part of Australia.

First of all let me tell you about Hillsong's Easter service - - - AMAZING!! It was basically like a show, not like any other Easter service I had ever been too.  I didn't take any pictures but I will get better at that...or just get them from Ash.  Either way.

Okay yes, so our trip...

We started in Sydney (see right of the map) then flew to Adelaide (in South Australia) and spent a night there then we rented a car and drove to Portland (about 6 hour drive from Adelaide along the ocean) and then stayed one night there and drove to Melbourne (in Victoria) and spent a night there and then drove to Albury/Wodonga (not on the map but in between Melbourne and Sydney) then we drove back to Sydney after 4 days in Albury/Wodonga.

Ash and I on the plane to Adelaide.

View in Adelaide - Adelaide is basically a city, beach, and hills all in 30miles.

And this was passed on our road trip - I have no explanation.

This was called the "blue lake" because it was super blue.  No tricks there.

Lighthouse in Portland - Portland was such a cute little beach town.

Oh and we definitely saw kangaroos on the drive.  We even saw 4 in Albury just sitting there but I didn't have my camera on me and I didn't want to make any sudden movements. Because lets be real I am not trained for a kangaroo attack.

Our pool in our hotel in Melbourne.  We lived the luxury life for one night.  It was a nice taste of home life.  I miss home.  I miss America.  I miss my car.  I miss my bed.  I miss more than 10 channels on a TV (well there actually are more than 10 channels but the rest are either duplicate channels or infomercials).  I miss costco fruit. I miss no public transportation.  I miss American gum and Swedish Fish.  I miss my own kitchen.  I miss having the same place to stay every night.  I miss running everyday.  I miss going to the gym whenever I want.  I miss my mom and dad.  I miss my dog - well she's been dead for a year but we might as well give Dallas (my dog) a shout out.  I miss not being a foreigner.  Yup that is about all.  America - you are a great country.  Australia you come close second because you are very beautiful.  And your people are very friendly.  And you have Ash - and that makes you pretty amazing.

We survived our first road trip and I think its a road trip we will remember for a very long time.  Thanks for being the best personal Australian tour guide.  Ill always be your road trip DJ :)

I love my weekends!

Lets just say weekends are my favorite.  I don't get to do too much during the week because I live a bit far away from everyone else so we make the weekends awesome!

Dinner in the city - this is at O Bar which is a bar that rotates and you get a view of the entire city.

Then on the train ride home I asked ash to make me a swan out of his gum wrapper and next thing I know it was done.  He is a man of many talents I tell you, I am a lucky girl! But he didn't want a picture  with it...you win some you lose some.

And then it was off to the Blue Mountains.  These are mountains about an hour away from Sydney.  From far away the mountains look blue because of the Eucalyptus on them.  We started with a picnic and then hiked for three hours down the massive waterfall and then around.  It was AMAZING!! A must do if you come to Sydney.

^^This guy is kinda my favorite! Thanks for making my weekends the best!!

And nowwwwww I am on vacation for a week and a half! I will be traveling throughout Australia but more about that next post!

Weekend in the city!

I had a wonderful weekend in the city with this guy and his friends from home!! This will be a picture overload post.  Just be okay with that.

Ash takes way better pictures than me as seen in the picture below.

Oh and I went for a run Saturday morning.  Holy hills.  We don't have hills in Texas, this was a foreign concept to me.  This is a picture I took from my run.  The trees, clouds, and beauty of this country is amazing.

Nothing starts a weekend like a trip to a local coffee shop.  I have made it my goal to try new coffee shops everywhere I go in this country.  I think I like that goal.  The cups here were super cute!

Um first can we just talk about that sky.  Second people can walk across the bridge (on my bucket list to do while I am here).  My mom was telling me how she heard people cant wear clothes while they walk across the bridge because its dangerous.  No mom - there are not naked people walking across the bridge all day.  They can wear clothes just not loose fitting clothes.  I know you are all sad to find out Australia does not have naked people walking over its famous bridge.

Then we took the ferry to Luna Park which is an amusement park.  I went on every ride.  They were not massive rides or roller coasters but they were kinda scary because the rides were dodgy.  I was not positive that this amusement park had been checked for safety, but thats okay I made it out alive.  I went on this ride that spins you around in a circular tube type thing and then the floor drops below you and you are just stuck to the wall!! It was crazy!!

Then we went up this lookout tower and saw the whole city from every angle.  It was beautiful!

Lastly we ate dinner and watched fireworks on the harbor.  Remember how I am a bad photographer...yah especially during fireworks.  But unlike this photo shows...the fireworks were awesome!

Oh and random picture of my homemade chai latte I made this morning.  A little cinnamon heart does the body good.

Thats enough pictures for the day.  Thanks Ben and Rosie for an awesome weekend in the city!! I will see you (and your adorable little baby boy) again in two weeks when Ash and I visit Albury!
