Its official!!!

All is done for the trip, its official.

Ticket purchased - check
Job - check
Place to live - check
VISA approved (!!! - this just happened) - check
Learning how to drive stick - not yet, but I will learn when I get there!
Bags packed - not check, I'm eager, but I'm not that eager.  However I have been thinking about different things I need to buy before I go.  Ive thought to myself that I need a new wallet, new flats, new makeup, and bring stuff to my friends out in Australia from America.  If your in Australia and you are reading this make me a list of what you want me to bring you!!

Other than that I am just playing the waiting game.  I have been busy working lots of hours but making lots of travel and fun money for Australia.  If I have not been in touch with you the past two weeks I apologize.  I get off work late at night and go in early in the morning, so connection to the social world has been minimal.  My day starts at 5am when I go to the gym.  I usually run about 5/6 miles and do some other stuff or do a fun workout class.  Working out before work makes me so much more awake for the day.  Plus I need to workout because we get food for lunch and dinner at my client every day.  And I have to look good next to all those Aussies that just got done with summer while I am coming out of hibernation.  I am seriously considering a spray tan or something to catch up.  Because if not, they might not be able to see me when I stand close to the Opera House.   Because its white, and I'm white.  I know. Bad Joke.  But insert awesome photo of the Opera House.

Now that we have all the important stuff out of the way, like how I need to tan.  Let see some pictures from my August trip to Australia just to get excited for what is to come in 44 days (YES that is the countdown now!)

Meet my future best friend, the baby kangaroo.  We got pretty close last time, but I am hoping with some more visits I will be able to get within a few feet. INSERT -> I am a bit nervous about the sharks and deadly spiders they have in Australia.  Please pray I don't run into any spiders because if so I might  be on the next flight home.  That is just not happening.

My favorite place the whole time I was in Sydney.  My boyfriend took me somewhere (I forgot where, we drove a while that is all I know) and we went to the best cafe (BEST COFFEE) and then he rented a boat and took me around.  At the time I was just so excited that I forgot that sharks could be in that water.  Oh well, I survived. But seriously it was the best date.  I've got a keeper.  However please disregard the middle part in my hair, it was the wind, I promise.

Please look to the right of this picture at those rocks.  Yes friends, I climbed those to get to where I am. So scary.  My boyfriend had done it tons of times so he just went off and left me to survive.  I am just kidding! But it felt like I was going to die at points.  And that is only 20% dramatic, 80% real. Thankfully I survived.  And I stayed with my boyfriend after he took me on a near death experience. [I am just exaggerating, it wasn't that bad!!!  It was such an adventure!]  Also I was not warned not to wear cute little flats to climb rocks so barefoot it was.  Sorry I am not sorry, it was like day 3.  I still had to look cute for my man at that point.

I really like these people above.  They make life fun. This is at a park in the city before watching fireworks my first night.  This is after being up for like 36 hours.  Still going strong with this bunch!

I really like him.  And he lets me wear his hats at times, and that my friends means he must really like me.  He likes his hats.  Which is good for me because it makes birthday presents easy.
We also like the sun.  Bright.

Well folks....that is all for now.  I will be back during the packing phase.  You will get to see my progress or procrastination whichever comes first.  Probably the latter.  But we have a system.  I throw everything in a suitcase and then my mom gets stressed that I don't fold anything so she ends up folding it for me while I am not looking.  It works. Also when my boyfriend came to America all his clothes were perfectly folded!! It made me like him a little more I am not going to lie.  Because lets be real, I would like this system to continue.  I am 20% kidding, 80% serious.  I wonder if he reads this. If so, please still date me I can learn to fold my clothes, I promise!

Anyways.  Until next time.  G'day mates, actually g'night mates...but that does not sound as cool.

65 days. 5 hours. 43 minutes...but who is counting?

Hello All!  I have been away from the blogging world for quite some time, but I have decided to come back temporarily.  Why you might ask...because I am GOING TO AUSTRALIA for 6 months!!!

I just booked my ticket and I arrive in Australia in 65 days. 5 hours. 43 minutes. and some change...but who is counting? (The answer to that question is, me!)

In the next 65 days I have an incredible internship at KPMG in Dallas which I just started today.  It will keep me nice and busy so that next thing I know I will be boarding the plane.  Next week I go to the airport to fly to Orlando for Intern Training, and I know that while I am at the airport I will be looking for that Aussie airline with wishful thinking! However, I know that I am where I am supposed to be at KPMG right now in my life and I am so excited for what these next two months hold there.

But...I digress.  Future posts will describe what I will be doing in Australia, but for now this is enough of a spoiler alert for you all.  But don't worry, those who know me know that I have a plan in mind and it will be great.

Here is a hint:

(Beautiful Bondi Beach south of Sydney - I think its south, I am still learning)

However, all you TX people.  I will be back in Dallas/Austin in May for my brothers wedding.  He just HAD to go get married while I am in Australia, so selfish.  Just kidding. I haven't spent much time away from the family in my whole life (going to college 30 minutes away didn't help matters) so I am sure I will be missing them like crazy once May rolls around, so a reunion will be great.  And what a reunion that will be (weddings + families = wonderful madness)

Anyways, this is my first post just to start the year off.  I will probably only post a few more times before I move, but once I move I will be here regularly I hope.

Please leave comments and love from far away those of you who read my blog while I am in Australia, I would love to hear from you!
